No taste of lemon, Dijon or cayenne (or whatever pepper spice that was chosen). I did receive a good size dip of sauce but it was a very bland sauce. When I order a dish with hollandaise sauce, I want a good helping of sauce and I want the sauce to be flavored well. So, why three stars on this daily special? It was the hollandaise sauce. I chose fried over medium on the eggs, however, I think scrambled would have been a better choice. It was topped with hollandaise sauce, and then topped again with three eggs. Potatoes were soft and browned, spinach was fresh large leaves perfectly wilted, and also chopped tomatoes and a good amount of grilled ham, also chopped up. I also like my coffee not too hot (it was a perfect temperature for me, because it did not burn my tongue off and I didn’t have to wait for it to cool down before I could drink it). On to the daily special: I like my coffee strong, and this coffee was a little weak. Always order their specialties (like Stacks excellent signature pancakes and French toast with eggs) if you want to rate the restaurant overall. Never judge the rating of a restaurant by the occasional specials. This day’s special was three stars (Yolks on me, because I should have ordered the “Stacks” because that’s what they are known for). The cleanliness of the restaurant was five stars. Things flowed slow and easy, but not too slow, service was good but not rushed, and everything I needed besides my food was on the table: variety of sugar packets, salt and pepper, creamer, napkin, and silverware. I will return just for that, and order one of their highly recommended dishes next time. The best thing I liked about Stacks&Yolks was the laid back atmosphere of the customers, servers and cook. The “special” lowered this review from five stars to four stars (actually three and half stars, rounded up). A sandwich board at the walk-in entrance advertised a special of three egg skillet with potatoes, tomatoes, spinach and ham. room, very clean, with about 20 tables and small breakfast bar seating area, and also a drive-thru window. Only three customers when I was seated, but it quickly filled up t0 half the tables occupied by 8:20am. Review for Stacks&Yolks 3200 N Jones, Las Vegas, NV 89108 on Friday, Apat 8:00am.įirst time visit. I was pleased with the taste and recommend you trying them. With that I squeezed them into the #8 spot on my top 10 Eggs Benedict list that I have created from across the US. It is very hard to separate #1 - #10 because of the closeness of flavor. I was happy to move these Bennys into my top ten list but WHERE? Coffee for $2.99 a cup is in line with todays norms. #3-price: $16.99 is the highest price for Benedicts with hash browns that I have reviewed. #2 -presentation : The presentation was inviting. Some of this and the price kept the review at 4 stars. Their decent amount of hash browns were shredded and cooked perfectly. The reason I review Eggs Benedict is because of the difference in the flavor of the Hollandaise sauce. The Hollandaise sauce was made from scratch and had a very smooth distinctive flavor. They replaced the hard egg with a properly cooked egg. I asked for easy/light poached eggs and was presented with 2 slightly past easy, closer to medium and 1 hard. NOTE: This is the only place that I have reviewed that uses 3 poached eggs for their Benedicts. After my visit these "Bennys" were added to my "top ten list" The waitress / owner Fahimeh A was very cordial and helpful with my questions. Stacks & Yolks has a variety of tasty breakfast and lunch offerings.
